Bisibelabath

Ingredients

Step 1: Spice powder mix

1 tbsp toor dal
1 tbsp channa dal
1 tbsp coriander seeds
3-4 dried red chillies (or as per your taste)
1 tsp methi seeds
1 tsp black pepper 
2 tbsp grated coconut 

Dry roast the above ingredients and let it cool and grind to a fine powder

Step 2: Rice/dal mixture 

1/2 cup rice
1/2 cup toordal
2 cups water 
Cook these for 3-4 whistles.

Step 3: For the sambar (curry)

5-6 green beans
1 carrot
2 brinjals
Half a cup small onions 
1 medium sized tomato
(You can add few pieces of drumstick if you have)
3tbsp ghee
2tbsp oil
1tsp mustard 
1tsp asefotida 
Curry leaves 8-10 nos
Tamarind (one Amla size)
Salt as needed

In a large pan add 2 tbsp oil and add mustard and let it splatter, add the asefotida and small onions and fry for a minute. 

Then add the veggies (add tomatoes also) and fry for 2 more minutes add 1 cup of water and bring to a boil. Then add tamarind water and salt, bring it to a boil for 5 minutes. Once the veggies are cooked add 3-4 tbsp of the spice powder and bring to boil.
Add the cooked dal/rice and mix well. Add ghee in the end and give it a good mix. Serve hot with pappad or spicy potato fry or veggie of your choice.
