Welcome to my blog “Akila’s Kitchen Diary”! Here, you will find an array of recipes from south Indian curries, chutneys and sweets to cakes, cookies and breads. You will find recipes that will make your mouth water and take your taste buds on an adventure across various cuisines. My blog will feature a step by step guide to all the (vegetarian) recipes that I have tried (and of course tasted).
I am Akila Arvind, I am from Chennai, India. I currently live in Buffalo, New York with my husband. Being a big foodie my passion for cooking and baking started when I was around 10 years old. I used to observe whatever my mom cooked and make notes of the recipes and try to cook all by myself and share it with family and friends.
My mom is the greatest cook in our family and is my biggest inspiration when it comes to cooking and the best critic. My dad and brother on the other hand were usually the scapegoats to taste the food I prepared, now the role is taken over by my husband. All their love and encouragement motivated me to learn more and try new recipes.
I am writing this blog to motivate my fellow foodies around the world by sharing my tried and tested recipes. Over the years my love for food has grown many folds. I have tried and experimented with numerous recipes with delicious results. I look forward to sharing my recipes with you and I hope you will try it out and fill your home with an aroma of flavors!
I will be glad if you all support me in this new journey and drop in your valuable feedback. Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Cheers!
Akila
